  • Water damage drying and floor replacement

Had a water leak from a heating system while working out of town that wet carpeted hardwood floors in two rooms. I found Servpro of Abingdon/Bristol/Marion, VA in the yellow pages and called them in desperation as I was leaving town again. They came, called and told me the carpet was ruined and had to go, called back and told me the hardwood floor was ruined and had to be replaced. They offered to handle the replacement. Homeowners insurance paid over $5,741 to dry out the house and replace the hardwood floors. The floors Servpro replaced warped very badly in a few months. No other... More...

  • Kitchen fire and smoke damage

I will not recommend this company to anyone. We had a kitchen fire and smoke damge in our home and Servpro was contacted by our insurance company to clean the smoke damage to our home and they did a miserable job. They did not complete the cleaning agreement and they damaged our bed, flooring, and disposed of kitchen appliance without our knowledge. When this was brought to the attention of the owner, he and another individual came to our home to "inspect" the damges. Immediately they attempted to intimidate me with a rather firm and strong handshake and this behavior... More...

  • Servpro high cost because they can

We had water heater leak and our insurance company told us to call Servpro. When they arrived I told them that I had a high deductible and most of the cost was out of pocket, but they never gave me an estimate. The first time I saw the cost was when I got a bill for $2500--my full deductible. At that time, Servpro again failed to give me any details. When I finally got the bill details, I discovered that they charged 150% of the market rate for equipment rental, and opted to run the most expensive equipment for the longest time. I know my insurance company did the bare minimum, since... More...

  • Bait and Switch

Our basement flooded the day before Thanksgiving last year 2011. We had Servpro of Birdsboro, PA come out to fix the damage. I was quoted $2,000.00 to $3,000 for the work after they checked what my insurance would cover. They cleaned the basement, removing the rug and padding and cutting out the dry wall. Basically they did a good job with that other than one of the employees smoking in my bathroom! The problem came when I received the bill...$6,000.00. I called the complain and the owner told me it was do to the amount of time I had the fans in the basement drying my cement. He... More...

  • NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY

I had a minor flood, followed by detection of mold. ServePro worked for two weeks and house smelled just horrible and they said they were done, had to complain and they came back and had to tear out more of the house and it took weeks to get the bad smell out house and it delayed the job by two weeks. The workers who didn't speak English, were using a bathroom and tore toilet paper and stuck it all over the sticky floor and left it. They broke cabinets, steps and didn't wrap expensive furniture, never drained faucet and it froze and broke. The worst part was the manager. He was... More...

  • Servpro is bad news

Beware of this company. I had an attic fire and called them to take care of the aftermath. Well let's begin with I trusted them. I am a career firefighter in my local city and know a bit about fire. First thing they did was crumple a glued 2500 piece puzzle up that I put together as a child and put it in a box. This is kinda minor but sentimental it was not affected by the fire. Next thing I had a huge dumpster at my home for restoration disposal. One day I went to check progress and noticed a large amount of black trash bags had been thrown into the dumpster. So out of curiosity I... More...

THIS IS THE WORSE COMPANY TO CALL WHEN YOU ARE IN NEED. MY PARENTS PAID THEM THE MONEY FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND HAD TO WAIT TWO WEEKS FOR THE REMAINDER AND THEY FILED A LAWSUIT. • Service call

My wife called Servpro when she saw water leaking from the ceiling in the living room and a large spot on the ceiling. I was out of town on business. They dispatched 2 technicians with no tools, not even a ladder, they had to borrow ours. They hacked a 6" square hole in the ceiling and said there was nothing they could do to fix the leak. For that service we were charged $125. Any other trade charges $60-$75 for a call. I called the local office to complain about the high cost, and was told that was just the cost of doing business and putting fuel in the van to come over. We were told... More...

  • Scam

I have been waiting for three weeks now (and counting) for an estimate that was suppose to be emailed to me the next day and cost $250. I have called ServPro several times. No one has called me back and the receptionist cannot help. Doesn't mold grow, the longer you wait the worse it gets? Therefore, no matter what the estimate says at this point the actual cost would be far greater. Thank goodness for this site becasue I will take my business elsewhere, but i still want my estimate since I paid for it. More...

In 2008 we had a fire in our home caused by lightning. We hired SERVPRO for repairs - it's been 3 years and I am still experiencing trauma from the poor job perfomance - poor, cheap and even used materials, contract not followed that was prepared by adjuster, no receipts, job never completed, my furniture was destroyed because they stored it in our garage and used it as workbenches. There was no cleaning done as promised, no videotaping, most of the furniture was not even moved back into our home. • Awful service from servpro

My experience with Servpro of Augusta was simply horrible. They were rude, not just the field crews, but the management and everyone I spoke with were downright mean. Incompetence is too nice of a word. They actually caused damage, overcharged me and didnt do anything but move some fans around. Their billing dept is top notch, except for the fact that they lost not one, but two checks, then filled a freaking lawsuit for the money. They have their money and should be glad that I am not the type to sue. Don't take a chance, use someone else More...

Our servpro was one of the few servpro's we went to Maryland to help out with hurricane irene & storm lee. We are from texas, we had crews out there for a month away from their families to help out the people affected by this disaster, very ungrateful, almost every customer out there was ungrateful, treated us bad, yelled & cussed us out over the phone because we couldn't get to them sooner, acting like they were the only ones who were affected, there was about 800 people affected & they acted like they were the only ones. The rain/flooding of April 23,2011, left me with 7 inches of sewage water in my basement (thought it did go back in the sewer within 2 hours). My insurance company has a contract to use Servpro of Glenview, IL. I place my claim at 3:30 a.m. ( 1.5 hours after storm), and called Servpro shortly after I talked to the insurance company. The owner came out ot my house the next day around 2 p.m. and when he saw I had paneling on my walls, he immediately said," Oh, all that paneling will have to be ripped off." Servpro did a terrible job and are refusing to stand by their work. I had a lot of water damage due to a leaking shower pan and they were contacted to fix it. It was a large job as my bedroom carpet, walls, shower had to be completely redone. They lost my vanity, faucets, sink etc. When finished there was a leak in the shower and water was not draining very well. I had to write a letter and they send someone to fix the leak but said the water was normal in the shower. Now I have a leak again in the same place. extraordinarily bad service. and NO, i am not one of their competitors writing a bad review. what happy horse sh*t that comment was! i called them twice over a period of a month to try to arrange to have someone to come and assess and estimate, remove and clean up old insulation in a small attic room. the boneheads never had the professionalism to call me back. how does a business remain alive in such an economic climate when they feel that they can afford to be so dismissive in handling prospective clients. wow. i will never use them! i have not the time nor the inclination to employ a company who wastes my time.

Servpro of Alabama came in to help in Maryland after the Hurricane. The workers did a good job, HOWEVER, my estimate was $500 and then it ended up being $750, and they definitely did not provide $750 worth of services. They don't provide you a receipt of services when the job is done. The Sales Manager is an idiot and is only focused on $, and additionally he is very rude and knows noting about customer service. When they first called they were like we are going to collect your deductible, and I asked well what if my deliverable is more than what the cost of the work is? Oh we will issue you a refund

I had very minimal water in my hardwood floors and then they left the equiment there and then charged me when they came out to check it and said it wasn't dry. They are crooks and they take advantage of peoples misfortune. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. They are a bunch of crooks!

I recently had a frozen water pipe that busted behind a tub in a bathroom between two bedrooms. It flooded the entire side of my home. I work for an insurance agent and have worked in the insurance business for 40 years. I have held an insurance license since 1979. I have recommended Servpro many times for jobs and even when our church had a fire they used them upon my recommendation. So when I stepped into ankle deep water I wanted none other than Servpro to do my work because I felt I knew the local people and they would do a good job and give me the best rate. I feel the guys who came out did a good job. I was sick with acute lung problem at the time and they knew this. They should have advised me to get a hotel room. I had to go to the doctor two more times because the dehumidifiers about killed me/ I could not breathe unless I went outside in the freezing weather to get fresh air. I wasn't satisfied with the bath tub not being dry of water. They wanted my entire bathroom tore out. They told me that my carpet could be put back down but my carpet was 6 years old and it could not be saved. They charged enormous fees and it was months going back and forth with the adjuster. Do you think after all the business I referred them they gave me any discounts. No, the Servpro representative Renee and her boss Cindy only wanted to complain about my adjuster and how hard he was making it for them.I was very disappointed and did not think this company handled this claim professional. Especially when she wanted to bring other claims by to discuss with me. Privacy please!! Don't be discussing my claim with anyone!! Our company has a privacy act that we abide by!!! Don't use them. I could tell you more but I think you get the drift.

When the company first arrived in my home back in December 2010, I wanted to feel very safe and secure that they were, in fact, doing their job.
At first, they were kind and seemed concerned about my issues.

But, then after about a week or so, the problems slowly began.
I will list them in order for your ease in reading:

1. My husband had some concerns that there was work done that didn't need to be done. My husband, being a former general contractor, had some valid concerns. When he questioned Aaron West, the older son of the franchise owners, Aaron repeated that we had nothing to worry about, because the insurance company was covering all the costs. This made us a bit weary, because we didn't want to take advantage of our insurance company, nor did we want them to do unnecessary work, just to hike up their fees.

2. Another son, Cameron, saw that I was very upset about the entire process, particularly that it was during the holidays. He said that they could abandon the job if we wanted them to. This response was flippant and unprofessional.

3. After our kitchen was contained with plastic, we were told that we couldn't enter the containment due to a possible hazardous environment. However, we witnessed the workers at Servpro entering the containment without wearing their masks. They also contained our atrium, but never explained why this was needed, but to just trust them that they were doing this to protect us. My husband informed me that opening the window between the kitchen and the atrium compromised the previous containment of the kitchen as the remediation of the mold had not yet been completed. Essentially the atrium was being used as a conduit for venting contaminants to the outside through the open skylight in the ceiling of the atrium and therefore possibly contaminating the atrium. My husband’s concerns regarding this practice were never satisfied nor was there any attempt on their part to explain their reason for doing this.

4. When finally removing the plastic from the containment, they recklessly tore down the plastic, leaving a staple in our floor, which was not only unsafe, but someone entering our kitchen with only socks on, scraped the bottom of their foot. When I mentioned this to the Servpro employees, they acted as if it was nothing to be upset about and made the comment, ”you should not be in a construction zone without shoes on.” The construction zone was in an area of the kitchen--free from any hazards.

5. The containment was put up in a very sloppy, unprofessional manner, leaving staple marks on our ceiling and walls.

6. When the job was approximately 3/4 completed, Aaron West pressured me into filling out a survey. He caught me in a moment when I was in a hurry and when I asked if I had to fill it out then and there, he replied that I did. Realizing this afterward, I thought I should have refused to answer the survey, but complete it at my leisure. I would appreciate either filling out a new survey, or destroying the one I did fill out.

7. Finally, when the job was completed, I had a check from my insurance company to give to Robert West, once he delivered my sink, faucet and a couple of other items which belonged to us. When he came by, accompanied by his son Seth West, to collect his check, he carried on and on about how they were so kind to me and helping me out during this stressful time.
Then, to top it off, and I thought I heard enough of his diatribe, Robert said to me, "I know you are having problems in your marriage!" I was so completely astounded and taken aback, not to mention completely offended by his unprofessionalism and his remark, that I became defensive about my marriage, even though it was/is none of his business. He was extremely out of line, not to mention completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

8. I have e-mailed Karen West, notifying her of 2 checks I had for them from the insurance company. I also wanted them to return a couple of items which belonged to me. I have been completely ignored, never receiving responses to my e-mails.
Last week, when I phoned and spoke with their office receptionist, Jessica West, she snickered as she told me that they would get back to me this week. I assure you, that will not happen.

Servpro are scam artists! I could write a book about servpro and all the unethical practices they use. Tripling the quote they give you; Stealing items from your home; putting liens on your home; refusing to send you a detailed bill; Their tactics are criminal like just to say the least. I have no idea how our system allows them to survive by taking advantage of helpless people and also insurance fraud at its best.

Servpro of Johnson City, TN Claims to be mold experts but reality is they know nothing about mold or how to get rid of it. They didn't even wear air mask when removing the mold Sheetrock. I will never use these guys again and suggest you don't either.

I had a Aunt's kitchen completely flood, they were out to her house in a hour. Since she lived about 30min away. They were very professional, and got the job done. This was the wichita kansas location.

We used them when last year (flooding). They seemed OK to me. Not great, not bad... Just got the job done without any problems.

I's sure some of these are legit, but alot of these people seem like they just want something to complain about.

What a scam company...Water damage due to ice maker break...Serv Pro recommended by insurance co and they came. Set up fans for a week -kept saying it was still wet and tore out ceiling etc.Wanted to come back to replace and when I told them I had a carpenter the manager became belligerent.... The bill was way over the top , not dated and not itemized. Insurance is fighting them...Wouldn't call them to clean up dog's mess.

Had a fire in Nov. Contacted Servpro they stood us up for appointments 3 times, I called and told them to just forget it. They called back apologized and set up another appointment which they wound up having to reschedule. Finally after about 20 days made it to the house to view the damage. Now in FEB! they started work yesterday and called this morning to tell us they couldn't get the materials to finish the job and are still expecting us to pay for over half of their original estimate.

in the process of dealing with servpro out of huntsville...they are never on time, constantly misrepresent themselves and returned a washer/dryer after 8 weeks (said it was clean). It had molded clothes in it and one of their gloves! I have already contacted a lawyer!

Servpro have numerous violations listed with the better business bureau. They are at best a load of con men, crooks and liars. Do not use their ineffective and impotent services.

ServPro of Decatur/Forsyth was hired by my insurance company. They over charged thousands of dollars for work that would never need to be performed. Submitted a second estimate and intentially over charged again. Damaged thousands of dollars worth of my property and to my home. Refuses to return calls, refuses to complete the job they were paid to do and refuses to return the remaineder of my personal property. ServPro employee's even stole items from my home when they were here.

Terrible work, had 2 companies here, broke, and damaged items.
I now learn I have water still in my walls, which led to mold. No one will call me back, I paid twice for such poor work. I plan to persue this matter!
